Watterson’s work has been called “wildly inventive” (Hollywood Reporter), “dazzlingly original” (Empire), and “fresh and inventive” (Rotten Tomatoes).

As a member of Mattel’s marketing team, the videos he’s directed for Barbie and Monster High have included collaborations with Warner Brothers, Greta Gerwig, Stevie Nicks, Mariah Carey, Claudia Schiffer, the estate of Wilma Mankiller, Walmart, and NBC’s The Voice, generating over 70 million views and a shout-out from Ad Age Magazine.

Bill is known for his tactile world-building and his ability to orchestrate unique tonal mash-ups. His feature film directorial debut, the practical effects-driven fantasy Dave Made A Maze, won the Audience Award at its World Premiere at Slamdance. The film has gone on to win over 20 Audience and Jury Prizes, a Saturn Award, distribution in over 70 countries, is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and made the British Film Institute’s List Of 10 Great Films With DIY Special Effects alongside such classics as David Lynch’s Eraserhead, George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, Peter Jackson’s Bad Taste, and A Trip To The Moon from Georges Méliès.

Other collaborators include Universal Studios, Netflix, Village Roadshow, The Jim Henson Company, Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, Moonbug Entertainment, Open The Portal, Fall Out Boy, and Eisner-Award-winning comic book legend Paul Dini.
